Finally managed to negotiate the purchase of an Italian SIM card for my phone. It won't work until tomorrow apparently, and they don't tell you the number either so you have to find out for yourself (by calling someone). Strange how different the whole deal is even with the same company in different countries. Here, I had to show my passport, but not prove my address like I did in Germany.

Anyway, I'm feeling that sense of achievement you get from performing tasks that would be completely trivial in your own country but are really tough when you don't speak the language. Celebrated by Buying More Ham.
