The German evaluation test was ok. It was 30 minutes multi choice, and was largely grammar points rather than comprehension, e.g. getting you to fill in the missing pronoun or article. They recommended I take DaF Intensif 3, which is the third part of their four part programme. That will be ok I think, the people who are doing the top level filled in their tests and walked out after 10 minutes, which was a bit intimidating. The courses start in a week's time.

My office mate Eduardo is quite glad that Spain drew Norway in the Euro 2004 play offs, even though Norway beat Spain in the first phase of the last European finals. Scotland got Holland, they'll need some luck. Eduardo has the excellent habit of using the word "fine" to mean very good indeed. So if you describe a good game of football to him he says "oh, that is very fine!". It reminds me a lot of Hemingway's Fiesta, particularly since Eduardo is from just outside Pamplona. He has lots of stories about bull-running and drinking from wineskins. He is married to a Basque woman. They got married the night before the Fiesta started, and then he left the next morning to go to the Fiesta.

Made this collage of Paris photos while I was in Berlin. Didn't really work out quite as well as I had hoped, but there are some cool bits. I really like Jarred and Sarah's photos from their honeymoon in Paris, particularly this one.
