Had a long, long conversation with a retired lady in the Italian deli this morning. She obviously didn't have much to do with her day. I kept trying to leave for work, but then she would ask me about where I worked etc. She had been to London in 1960, and had lots to say about it, things she did and didn't like, and her daughter and granddaughters who live there now. She was nice though.
Got the night train tickets, so Friday night I spend in a Liegewagen with 5 sleeping Germans. Hopefully sleeping anyway. There's a separate bar, so hopefully it'll be quiet in the sleeping wagen. Then Saturday morning I arrive in Hamburg just in time for breakfast. Should be good, I'm looking forward to it. If it works out well I might take the night train somewhere else. They go to Amsterdam and Vienna.
