Social life in a French lab

My lab doesn't have pub nights. However, you do regularly get emails like this one which I just received:

> Bonjour,
> A la demande d'irreductibles bretons, un goûter "Crêpes" est organisé
> Jeudi 7 février à 17h00 à la mezzanine.
> A vos fourneaux !


This follows on from a recent gallette-baking competition. One of the researchers is the daughter of a retired boulangere - all her entries are officially "hors concours"
