Basque Cuisine

We had lunch in a Basque café (Chez Gladines, 30 rue des Cinq Diamants) that Graham's colleague had recommended and it was excellent. I had the biggest salad I've ever seen, which came in a huge silver bowl with heaps of fried potatoes, cheese (2 types), meat (3 types) and even a fried egg. Despite valiant efforts on my part I was unable to finish it although the French man sitting next to me saw his off with no trouble.

We walked back (still grève!) and discovered some modernist buildings tucked away in the 13th arr. so I'm going to try to find out more about them, especially the one on rue Paul Gervais.
