Montmartre
Yesterday we went for a stroll around Montmartre. We followed - more or less - a route suggested by the Blue Guide Paris which took in the sights of Montmartre as well as some lesser visited neighbourhoods nearby. Luckily it was a sunny day so we were able to take a few photos and get a decent view from the top of the Butte at Sacre Cœur.
The area around Montmartre varies from downright seedy to elegant within a few streets, but it is certainly picturesque. There was little evidence of artists in residence although I did see one girl sketching buildings on the pretty back streets.
